Is Sam Altman trying to steal the limelight from the Grok3 launch tonight?

In a post on X Sam said

trying GPT-4.5 has been much more of a “feel the AGI” moment among high-taste testers than i expected!

If Grok3 does take the number one spot with their latest release, how long will it last?

FreePik continues to extend the range of models that are available in their AI suite, today they’ve added MiniMax Director to their Video generation tools. MiniMax Director allows the user to take control over the exact camera movement that is required in the shot including movements like truck left, circling right, pedestal down and shake. The movements can be combined and ordered to give you very fine control over the movement. It’s available right now as part of the FreePik subscriptions.

Elon Musk has announced that Grok 3 will be unveiled at a live event at 8pm Pacific time on Monday February 17. Elon claims that it will be the ‘Smartest AI on Earth’, and not many people would bet against XAI’s ability to do that, especially as it’s been training on their new Super Computer data center. The question really is, how much of a gap can they pull out over the competition and if they are in the top spot how long will they be able to hold onto it?
