OpenAI are going to pursue an ad supported model to boost their revenue and no one is happy about it, except Anthropic, they love the idea! OpenAI has decided that including advertising in their ChatGPT models is a cool way to make some extra cash. That news was received by ChatGPT users about as well as you might expect, they universally hate the idea. While the details aren't known, it's going to be difficult to convince users that there's zero conflict of interest between the response from an AI and it's biggest advertisers. The makers of Claude, Anthropic did not let this news go to waste, they've produced a series of ads trolling OpenAI, with the line "Ads are coming to AI. But not to Claude." Claude has had so many wins recently that they're gaining fans every day, this marketing campaign could really put OpenAI on the back foot.
