Robot Gymnastics! Do Boston Dynamics Have What It Takes To Become King Of The Robots Once More?

Humanoid robots are expected to outnumber humans in the not too distant future, couldn't they at least have the courtesy to let us pretend that we're superior for just a little bit longer? Once upon a time, Boston Dynamics was the only name in town when it came to robotics, but these days there's a back-flipping, kung-fu kicking robot around every corner. Many of us wondered whether the once king of robotics was getting left in the dust by the stiff competition, especially from the many Chinese robotic start-ups. However, with this latest demonstration of gymnastic dexterity it would seem that Boston Dynamics has made sure they are still in the race. There have been plenty of amazing feats performed by robots recently, but something about the fluidity and grace in this sequence makes it stand out from the crowd. Perhaps the many years head-start for Boston Dynamics [emphasis] did count for something.
