Today's Daily AI Roundup covers four stories.
OpenAI just closed the largest funding round in Silicon Valley history: $122 billion in committed capital at an $852 billion valuation. SoftBank co-led with $30 billion, Amazon put in up to $50 billion, NVIDIA committed $30 billion, and retail investors contributed another $3 billion. OpenAI is generating $2 billion a month in revenue but still isn't profitable.
Oumi launched VibeML, a platform that lets any team build custom AI models in hours by describing what they need in plain language. It handles data generation, fine-tuning, evaluation, and iteration automatically. Built by former Google and Microsoft engineers with $10 million in seed funding from Venrock and Obvious Ventures.
OPPO unveiled the Find U, a smart umbrella with a 4K display inside the canopy, solar charging, self-drying at 60,000Hz vibration, and AI-powered micro-thrusters for wind resistance. Built using the same hinge technology as their Find N6 foldable phone.
H Company dropped Holo3, a new series of computer-use models scoring 78.9% on OSWorld-Verified, beating GPT-5.4 and Claude Opus 4.6 at a tenth of the cost. The smaller variant is fully open source under Apache 2 with weights on Hugging Face and a free API tier.
